Quick! Turn your computer volume down
just a bit as the intro begins.
Chuck Day has a bit of a temper ... there is something
very Lion like about Chuck. The story of Androcles and the
Lion comes to my mind frequently when thinking of Chuck.
Somewhere there is a a big thorn.
The channel of Chucks sweet soul...yes we know he can
Roar but we know he is one big soulful sweetheart. This tune
you are listening is just a joyful moment from a very sweet
night at Peri's last Friday Night. The music was great the
warmth has returned to our part of the planet, surviving
another winter.

I spoke to Chuck earlier tonight at Peri's he shared
with me some thoughts regarding last weekends show and
how during the show he thought while he was playing, and
he tells me that musicians think about a lot of things
even while they play, he says he was looking at his hand
playing his guitar and he reflected in wonder how his
voice seems to know what his hand is playing or I think
it was more that his hand new where his voice was going
and he had a moment of wonder about what a gift he had
in his hands. That's right.
Born in Chicago, Former Bass player for
both the Johnny Rivers Band and The Mamas and Papas.
Left hand guitarist and soulful Blues Vocalist and
all-round King of old-fashioned Rock and Roll around
here.
This is picture is a few years old.
You know I had to play this tune and I was in a
state of wonder and bliss hearing him launch into Del
Shannon's 'Runaway' the most priceless part is hearing
that chorus coming from the barstools on my left as I
sat at a table. An amazing spontaneous moment where the
audience just somehow nailed it!! Priceless. |

Peace and best wishes from Chuck to all his
friends. |
